Milton Harms directs Romar Freezone N.V. and oversees the re-export of various duty-free items sold in the Freezone area of Aruba, Panama, and Curacao. Having built the company from the ground up beginning in 1988, he manages a team of 20 employees and also guides Romar Trading N.V. With the latter firm, Milton Harms imports and distributes food, wine, liquor, and tobacco. The firm stands as Aruba’s largest wine and spirits enterprise, and he has engineered the acquisition of complementary companies such as Unisales NV, Licores Aruba NV, and Heineken Aruba NV.
Since 1991, Mr. Harms has also led Bejumied Holding N.V. as managing director. This venture represents a Moravian Church Foundation joint partnership and has a 40 percent stake in auto dealerships across Curacao, Bonaire, and Aruba. These locations sell models such as Nissan, BMW, GM, Hyundai, and Kia. The partnership’s activities extend to operating franchises of Hertz Car Rental across the three islands.
Mr. Harms holds a BS in business administration earned at Bryant University in Rhode Island. He subsequently studied abroad and earned his MBA at the University of Edinburgh. Milton Harms is active with the International Association of Airport and Duty Free Stores, and enjoys sailing off the Aruba coast in his free time.
